About Dr. Peck

Approach

Dr. Peck is a clinical psychologist and published author who provides individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents, adults and their families. As a practitioner-scientist trained at top institutions, Dr. Peck provides evidence-based treatments routed in science. This is done in an artful and compassionate way that honors the unique needs and personality of each of her clients. This unique approach allows clients to benefit from proven, cutting-edge treatments while still allowing for the deeper benefits of therapy such as self-reflection, growth, and personal evolution. Dr. Peck completed her pre- and post-doctoral training at renowned clinics at UCSD and possesses highly specialized training in evidence-based psychological treatments currently regarded as the most effective, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and family-based treatments. Through her training at scientific institutions, Dr. Peck remains faithful to a scientific model of practice, choosing models of treatment proven to work. These models are then tailored to the unique needs of each client and delivered with a spirit of compassion and closeness in a way that is stimulating and engaging.  

Training and Professional Background

Dr. Peck completed her Ph.D in clinical psychology with an emphasis in health psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, where her coursework and clinical experiences centered around child and adolescent health, and mind-body medicines such as mindfulness training and applied biofeedback. Dr. Peck completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at UCSD under the departments of Pediatrics and Psychiatry under world-renowned experts in the field of psychology. During her two-year fellowship, she received specialty training in evidence-based behavioral treatments with a particular emphasis in eating and weight issues (eating disorders, overweight, and obesity), anxiety and stress disorders in both children and adults, and parenting training. 

Dr. Peck regularly speaks at national conferences and provides clinical trainings for both professionals and community members. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Peck holds an appointment at UCSD, where she is involved with developing innovative treatments based on advances in brain science,  and directs an intensive family therapy program at the Eating Disorders Treatment and Research Center. She continues to contribute to research through professional presentations, consulting, and the authoring of both research articles and professional book chapters.  

Philosophy

Dr. Peck holds a deep passion for her work and places high value on the opportunity to connect with her clients. Inspired by watching her clients make positive changes, Dr. Peck is committed to measurable change in ways that are meaningful to her clients.  Outside of her professional life, she enjoys the outdoors, surfing, yoga, hiking, and writing. Born and raised throughout Central and South America to American parents, Dr. Peck identifies as "third-culture" and continues to be dedicated to traveling internationally to experience other cultures.
